Is Stretch Clinic for me?

Yes! The Advanced Health Stretch Clinic is available for every level of fitness and flexibility.

I have some (or lots!) of stretching experience and have some specific stretch goals. Would Stretch Clinic be able to help me?

Yes! Our therapists are excited to offer advanced stretching- available with our Assisted Stretching or our Personalized Stretch Coaching Program.  Please contact us to discuss what your stretch goals are so that we may choose the best therapist for you to work with.

What if I have pain or am injured?  Can I still come to Stretch Clinic?

If you have any acute pain or injury you must receive clearance from your physician or physiotherapist prior to coming to Stretch Clinic.

Luckily, we work alongside physiotherapists and would be happy to book an assessment to make sure Stretch Clinic is right for you.

Some clients even find it helpful to bring a copy of their physio stretches to Stretch Clinic for assistance or use stretch therapy as a bridging session between physiotherapy appointments.

Why stretching?

Flexibility is one of the main components of fitness.

When our bodies see the same movements every day, whether it be from prolonged sitting, technology usage or sports performance, our muscles tighten and create imbalances. Those tight muscles can easily become overstretched and damaged. To help prevent injuries, it is important to find a stretching routine that will fit your needs and lifestyle.

Assisted stretching helps your muscles move beyond their natural resistance point, allowing you to see quick results in a relaxing environment.

How often should I stretch?

Everyday. Well, that’s our opinion.

Actually, this depends a lot on your stretch goals. Stretching as few as three times a week can still result in mobility gains.  So, if you have a busy training schedule, daily stretching may not be possible or necessary.  A light, cool down stretch after your workout will help not only improve your performance by maintaining elasticity in your muscles, but feels GREAT!  What better way to improve your body than some partner PNF stretching with us?!

However, if you are looking to make some significant improvements, say to your posture, athletic performance, or have specific goals such as getting touchdown in your splits, we would recommend a higher frequency of stretching (6-7x a week).  However, this also doesn’t mean doing exactly the same stretches every day either! You can always discuss this more in-depth with your stretch Coach who will personalize your stretching program.

What do I wear to Stretch Clinic?

Anything that’s comfortable and that you can move in! This may be a t-shirt and track pants, tank top, yoga pants, leggings…but probably not your skinny jeans!
