Tendayi Tichiwanhuyi

MScKin, BMedSc

I began my professional journey by completing my Masters of Science in Ergonomics and Kinesiology at Rhodes University in South Africa in 2015. I worked first as an Ergonomic Consultant in Capetown South Africa before shifting full time into physical fitness and rehabilitation, working as a Registered Biokineticist (aka Exercise Therapist) in Zimbabwe until
December 2019 when I moved to Canada. It is there that I followed that up with a diploma in Massage Therapy at the Alberta College of Massage Therapy, completion due in November 2022.

With my education and work experience in these fields, I have gained an interest in helping individuals achieve both fitness and rehabilitative goals. My treatment style utilizes various modalities in manual therapy including deep tissue massage, therapeutic massage, stretch therapy and myofascial release. In addition I have experience offering fitness training modalities
in strength and conditioning, mobility training, and corrective exercise training.

Being an active recreational tennis player in Edmonton, I appreciate and connect with individuals who invest in active lifestyles for a balanced physical and mental well being. And that has helped build my approach to integrative therapy (be it self-care or recovery) from pain and movement limitations, to injury prevention and management, with the final phase being progression towards top physical performance.
